OnePlus Open: The First Foldable Phone from OnePlus Goes on Sale in India



OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone maker known for its flagship devices, has entered the foldable phone market with its first offering, the OnePlus Open. The OnePlus Open is a premium device that features a horizontal foldable design, a powerful processor, and a Hasselblad-branded camera system. The OnePlus Open was launched in India and other regions on October 19, and will go on sale in India from October 27. Price and Availability

The OnePlus Open is priced at Rs. 1,39,999 for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant in India. It is available in two colors: Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black. The device can be purchased through OnePlus's official website, Amazon, and retail stores. Pre-orders have started from October 26, with open sales beginning on October 27.

Customers can avail of various launch offers on the OnePlus Open, such as an Rs. 8,000 trade-in bonus on select devices and an additional Rs. 5,000 discount with ICICI Bank and OneCard Instant Bank. Customers can also get up to 12 months of no-cost EMI and free screen replacement for six months.

Specifications

The OnePlus Open sports a 7.82-inch AMOLED inner display with a resolution of 2480x2200 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. When folded, it has a 6.31-inch AMOLED outer display with a resolution of 2260x832 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is the first 4nm processor in the world. It also has an Adreno 660 GPU, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The OnePlus Open boasts of a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor with a Sony LYTIA-T808 "Pixel Stacked" CMOS sensor, an f/1.9 aperture, OIS, and EIS; a 12MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, OIS, and EIS; and a 16MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and EIS. The rear cameras are co-engineered with Hasselblad, the Swedish camera maker that is famous for its role in the Apollo moon missions. The rear cameras support features such as Nightscape Ultra, Pro Mode, HDR+, Portrait Mode, Super Macro Mode, Panorama Mode, Hyperlapse Mode, Slow Motion Mode, and more.

The OnePlus Open also has two selfie cameras: one on the inner display and one on the outer display. The inner selfie camera is a 16MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and EIS, while the outer selfie camera is a 32MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and EIS.
