Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent
visit to Lakshadweep has prompted many netizens to add the island
destination to their travel bucket list. The PM shared glimpses of his
two-day trip on social media, where he tried snorkeling and enjoyed
beach walks.
Modi visited Lakshadweep on January 2 and 3, where
he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development
projects worth more than Rs 1,150 crore in sectors such as
telecommunications, drinking water, solar power and health.
He also shared photos of his morning walk along the
picturesque beaches of the region, and a video of him snorkeling in the
clear waters of the Arabian Sea². He captioned the video, "Snorkelling
is a wonderful way to see the marvels of our marine ecosystem. It is a
must-do activity for those visiting Lakshadweep."
The
PM's posts received thousands of likes and comments from netizens, who
expressed their admiration and curiosity about Lakshadweep. Many users
said they were inspired by the PM to visit the island paradise, while
others thanked him for bringing attention to the lesser-known
destination.

Another

Lakshadweep
is a group of 36 islands in the Arabian Sea, of which only 10 are
inhabited. It is known for its pristine beaches, coral reefs, lagoons
and rich biodiversity. It offers various water sports and activities
such as scuba diving, kayaking, sailing, fishing and island hopping.
Lakshadweep
is also set to benefit from the submarine optic fibre cable project,
which will connect it with Kochi in Kerala and improve its internet
connectivity and digital services³. The PM said the project will boost
tourism, education, health and e-governance in the islands.
