Porattu Nadakam Movie review

Porattu Nadakam, Which tells the story of a village called Gopalapura in the backdrop of North Malabar. The events unfolding in Gopalapura for 21 days are presented through satire. Art forms like Kothamuriyatam and Porattu Nadakam are the main Background.

After a long time, a film that tells a story through satirical comedy has reached the audience. Presented by the unique director Siddique, the drama Porat is hitting the theaters to make the audience laugh and think. Directed by Siddique's disciple Naushad Saffron, the script is penned by writer and Kerala Sahitya Akademi awardee Suneesh Waranad. Suneesh Varanad talks to Q Studio about the film.

I believe that individuals who support any political party can appreciate this film for what it is. There are no objections within the narrative. The film explores how politics impacts the everyday life of a common person over a span of 21 days. While it isn't strictly about politics, it is framed within various political contexts. It highlights the real-life challenges faced by ordinary people in today's Indian political landscape. Interestingly, a cow unintentionally becomes part of the hero's troubles, and the development of their relationship unfolds throughout the story. The film presents politics in a unique light, emphasizing the significance of that relationship.

In "Porat Natakam," the central theme is not religion, but politics. For a long time, religion and politics have been intertwined, and current events in India suggest that one cannot exist without the other. It isn't the writers or filmmakers who have connected religion to politics; it's the politicians themselves. We often see religion being exploited for political gain. In response, the film includes cartoons and satire, reflecting this reality. India Vision has already aired a program called "Politrics," which I directed, produced, and presented. Can we not view certain political actions as humorous? Just like the cartoons of the past, the film aims to present these ideas in an engaging way.
