Also, the Unnao district administration today has also cancelled three arms licences of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, accused in the Unnao rape case. Sengar had a gun, a rifle and a revolver registered in his name.
And today, BJP lawmaker Ashish Singh Ashu was seen in a video expressing his solidary for Kuldeep Singh Sengar and wishing that the tainted former BJP MLA would come out of the jail soon.
Political career
In 2002, he was a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, winning the election from Unnao Sadar; it was the first time BSP won that seat since independence. Rape charges
Sengar allegedly raped a 17-year-old teen in Unnao, who approached him asking for a job on 4 June 2017. On 13 April 2018, he was taken in by the Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning.
Murder and attempt to murder charges
On 28 July 2019, her two aunts were killed (and the rape victim and her lawyer seriously injured) when a truck rammed the car they were travelling in. The driver is associated with Sengar, who had allegedly threatened the family that "they would be killed one way or the other" if they did not withdraw the complaint. Sengar has been booked for murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation. The police FIR lists 10 persons including Sengar's brother Manoj Singh Sengar, Sashi Singh and his aides
On July 30th 2019 , Sengar was Expelled from his political party BJP following the rape.
