Hindu astrology is a perfect science. It's different from science on its methodology of arriving at conclusions. Astrological Principles,calculations,methods of making predictions are absolutely empirical ,based on observations and past experiences,not derived from theoretical assumptions. It would be fallacy to reject it without understanding it in depth ,or on the basis of superfluous knowledge 'It's really ridiculous when people become judgemental without knowing the subject thoroughly, they deprive themselves from vast field of knowledge.
- Logically one must have a scientific thinking,should also realise that science has its own constraints,it can't go beyond the knowledge acquired through senses.
- Every scientific theory is subject to change with advance research.
- human error May fail any scientific findings or its application.
- authenticity of any scientific research is relative to time of its origin something true today maybe false tomorrow. Likewise we find deviations in astrology also which could be attributed more to human errors like making predictions without checking accuracy of a horoscope or overlooking some of the important factors essential for making predictions, resulting in wrong predictions.
Hindu astrology is different from western astrology. It's based on old shastras by Parashar ,Gemini and others. They had no scientific tools to calculate planetary movement in our solar system,despite that they could precisely codify astronomical concepts; the planets, signs, and houses and their natures; how to cast a horoscope, varga charts, subplanets planetary strength; the vimshottari dasha system; balaristha and Arusha bhanga, various yogas, varshaphala, muhurtha, prasna, gochara, ashtakavarga, etc.
Hindu astrology in its findings is much ahead of scientific scrutiny. Why?
- We should view ourselves as part of the whole universe we should widen our horizon. While living in our house,our country,our continent,our earth we are essentially living in universe. Our life is conditioned by tangible or intangible forces of universe. We can see only tangible forces which have been established by science as we know sun causes climatic changes,determines various kinds of body structures and growth of human beings,vegetation,flora and fauna in various climatic zones of the world so much so complexion and height of men is also influenced by sun. If you don't get enough sun light you will suffer with weak bones, poor haemoglobin.Thats why in astrology Sun represent Atma and physical manifestation of the body.
- Moon's gravitational force causes tides pulls sea water to several meters.In Hindu astrology ,moon represents mind and every body knows that our brain floats in cerebral fluid thus there seems to be reasonable relationship between moon and mind. Brain is the control centre of human body that's why whichever Rashi occupied by moon becomes the Rashi of the native and most important factor for predictions.
- In science even today we have little information about Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,Mercury,Venus whereas our Rishis could visualise effects of these planets on human beings on the basis of observation and experience more than a thousand year before and also prescribed methods of predictions.
I have experienced certain planetary positions which could predict up to 100% accuracy:-
- native having Scorpio as ascendant will have square face and blunt nose.
- Mars occupying ascendant native' parting will be obscure.
- debilitated Venus will make the native debouch.
- native having exalted Saturn and Jupiter will occupy high position in his life.
These are some examples based on planetary position only. One can understand whole personality on the basis of horoscope.
I am of the firm view that Hindu astrology is absolutely scientific and it's not something superstitious one must study and experience it before rejecting it as science.
