 Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia chaired a high level meeting with ministers, DGCA officials on the safety of air passengers on 17 July. The reason for this was due to the failure of Indian aircraft that was in the news recently.

On Sunday, an Indigo flight from Sharjah to Hyderabad had to land in Karachi, Pakistan.

According to the company, the pilot "did a technical fault and the plane was diverted to Karachi as a precaution."

On Sunday itself, Air India Express flight going from Calicut to Dubai had to land in Muscat. Was told that there was a smell of burning in the plane.

On July 5, SpiceJet's Delhi-Dubai flight made an emergency landing in Karachi due to some glitches in its fuel indicator.

On the same day, after an Indigo flight landed in Indore, the news of smoke was seen in the cabin.
On July 2, a SpiceJet flight had to land back in Delhi as smoke was seen in the cabin at an altitude of 5000 feet.
