11 MLAs of JD(S)-Cong coalition govt in K'taka submit resignation

Eleven MLAs of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in Karnataka on Saturday submitted their resignation. Out of the eleven, eight MLAs are from the Congress and three are from the JD(S). The JD(S)-Congress coalition government would lose majority if the resignations are accepted. The MLAs reportedly met Governor Vajubhai Vala and called for a floor test in the Assembly.

Alka Lamba, Removed From AAP WhatsApp Group, Spells Out Exit Plan

After Being Thrown Out of Whatsapp Group, MLA Alka Lamba Wants to Quit AAP in 2020.Lamba claimed that she was removed from the group after praising Naveen Patnaik for winning a fifth term as chief minister of Odisha, a move which, she said, did not go down well with the AAP leadership.

Sharing screenshots of the WhatsApp group on Twitter, which purportedly shows that she was removed by AAP's North East Delhi candidate Dilip Pandey, she lashed out at Kejriwal and asked why she was being held responsible for the party's crushing loss in the Lok Sabha elections.

Brexit impasse: Theresa May resigns effective June 7

After a tumultuous turn of events, UK Prime Minister Theresa May has announced her decision to step down, deepening the Brexit crisis. Lack of consensus in her own party was visible with respect to the Brexit Bill likely to be introduced on May 24 – her fourth such attempt.The resignation will signal the formal start of a leadership contest during which May would remain as caretaker prime minister.

"I will resign as leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party on Friday, 7th June," May said.

"The process for electing a new leadership should begin in the following week," she said.

The leadership race is expected to take several weeks.

Case filed against man who slapped Arvind Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: The Delhi police on Sunday filed an FIR against the man on charges of slapping chief minister Arvind Kejriwal during a roadshow a day ago, officials said. The accused, Suresh, has been booked under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 153 (promoting enmity between different groups) of the Indian Penal Code, deputy commissioner of police (West) Monika Bhardwaj said.

The 33-year-old, who the police said was a disgruntled Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporter, allegedly slapped Kejriwal during a roadshow in west Delhi's Moti Nagar on Saturday, apparently because he was dissatisfied with the behaviour of the party leaders.

The chief minister was atop an open jeep when a man wearing a red T-shirt jumped onto the vehicle and slapped him before being pulled off the vehicle.

Rahul's candidacy; VM Sudheeran wants withdrawal from the left

The Left needs to support Rahul Gandhi in view of the situation in national politics. VM Sudheeran said in Thiruvananthapuram that Rahul's candidature will make Kerala better.Congress leader VM Sudheeran has said that the CPI should be ready to withdraw from PP Srinivasan as Rahul Gandhi is contesting in Wayanad. In the matter of withdrawal of the candidate, LDF should make an immediate decision. The Left needs to support Rahul Gandhi in view of the situation in national politics. VM Sudheeran said in Thiruvananthapuram that Rahul's candidature will make Kerala better.

UDF convener Benny Beanan also said that the Left Front should be ready to withdraw the current candidate in the wake of Rahul Gandhi's candidacy for Wayanad. Benny Behanan also said that all the Congress candidates in Kerala have been elected as the National Honor of Kerala.
