Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has scheduled his third meeting with his MLAs in the past two days, He can be disqualified as an MLA. The Governor is going through the recommendations put forth by the Election Commission.
Mr. Soren summoned the meeting this morning at CM residence at Ranchi amid rumours that he may be removed from the state assembly due to a mining leasing contract.
According to sources Election Commission has recommended "disqualification" for Chief Minister Hemant Soren after finding him responsible for the illegal mining case.
This means that though Mr Soren will have to resign after the Governor notifies the disqualification order on a gazette, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader can get re-elected in a by-election that has to be held within six months.
