Congress Calls on RBI, SEBI to Investigate Alleged Wrongdoings of Adani Group

The
Congress party has called on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to investigate allegations of financial irregularities against the Adani Group. The partys Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, Veerappa Moily, has written to the RBI and SEBI, urging them to look into the allegations of financial impropriety surrounding the Adani Group. Moily stated that if the allegations are found to be true, then action should be taken against the group. The Adani Group has been accused of several violations, including alleged misappropriation of funds, avoidance of taxes, and violation of environmental laws. Moily has asked the RBI and SEBI to investigate the matter and take action if any wrongdoing is found. The move comes after several members of the Congress party, including Rahul Gandhi, had recently raised questions about the business practices of the Adani Group. Gandhi had alleged that the group had profited from the pandemic, and had made millions by inflating the prices of essential goods. The Adani Group has denied all allegations, and has called thembaseless. The group has further stated that it is fully compliant with all laws.
