India's Urban Transport to Improve with 260 Cable Car and Ropeway Projects, as 670 Roadside Amenities Aim to Boost Convenience and Local Markets, says Union Minister Gadkari.

In a recent program organized by the Indian Institute of Architects, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the finalization of 260 ropeway, cable car, and funicular projects to address urban transport issues. The tender process for these projects is ongoing, and work is expected to start soon. Over 300 proposals for ropeways were received from various states and tested for practicality. The projects are set to be completed within the next three years.

In addition to the transport projects, 670 roadside amenities are being developed to provide convenience to people on highways and expressways. These amenities, which can be constructed on two to five acres of land, will offer parking, restrooms, dhabas, restaurants, petrol pumps, and other facilities. The aim is to ensure that these facilities are available at the maximum number of locations, boosting convenience and local markets.

Minister Gadkari emphasized the importance of speedy decision-making in governance, particularly in road projects, where delays are a significant problem. He highlighted the significance of officers who can make quick and efficient decisions, even if they turn out to be wrong.
