Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and his family continue to face challenges in relation to the land-for-job scam case. Following the raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the homes of Lalu Yadav's children and other relatives on Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now summoned Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav, for questioning. According to official CBI sources, Tejashwi Yadav was called for questioning at the CBI headquarters in Delhi on March 11, after having previously ignored a summons on February 4. The CBI is investigating allegations that Lalu Yadav and his family accepted land as bribes in exchange for railway jobs during his tenure as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. Sixteen people, including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Misa Bharti, have been named in the case. A Delhi court has ordered all parties to appear on March 15. In the course of raids on 24 locations across Delhi, NCR, Patna, Ranchi, and Mumbai, the ED claimed to have recovered Rs 53 lakh in cash, $1,900, 540 gm gold biscuits, 1.5 kg gold ornaments, and important documents.
