Ayodhya Development Authority( ADA), the Dhannipur mosque is set to be built in Ayodhya, following the Supreme Court's verdict on the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. The Uttar Pradesh government has granted five acres of land to the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) trust for the construction of a mosque, a hospital, a research institute, a community kitchen, and a library. However, due to the ADA's pending clearance and land use matters, the construction has been delayed for more than two years. On March 4, the Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal announced that the Ayodhya mosque project had been approved during a board meeting. After completing a few departmental formalities, the sanctioned maps will be handed over to the IICF. The IICF secretary, Athar Hussain, said that the trust will finalize the construction plan for the mosque after all the clearances have been obtained. The Divisional Commissioner also noted that the foundation of the mosque was laid on January 26, 2021, to commemorate the day India's Constitution came into effect over seven decades ago.
