Tanur: Recreation trip boat crashed on Tuwaltheeram beach near Parpanangangatı-Tanur Municipal Corporation boundary. Preliminary information about the death of 21 people. So far 12 people have been rescued. The condition of many of those rescued is critical. Information about the accident took place at seven o'clock in the evening.
Most of the people who were in the bottle are from Parpanangati, Tanur area. The boat capsized completely. The boat's door being closed increased the extent of the accident. The bottle did not have any security systems and the locals pointed it out.
Since it was a holiday, there were a lot of visitors on the beach. Rescued people have been admitted to various hospitals in Parapanangātti Nahas, JS Mission, Tirurangātti Taluk Hospital, Kottayakkal, Thanur.
Tanur, Tirur fire units and police, revenue, health department etc lead the rescue operations. The District Disaster Management Authority coordinates rescue operations under the leadership of the District Collector.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the Tanur boat accident. He also informed that Rs 2 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased. As a mark of respect to those who died in the Tanur boat accident, an official mourning ceremony has also been announced in the state tomorrow.

The state government announced a judicial inquiry into the boat accident in which 22 people died.Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed about this to the media after a high-level meeting at the accident site. A judicial commission consisting of technical experts will conduct the investigation. The government will provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister also clarified that the government will bear the medical expenses of those undergoing treatment.
