IndiGo has refunded ₹610 crore to passengers affected by cancelled or severely delayed flights, following a government order to complete all pending refunds by 8 p.m. on Sunday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed.
Passengers rescheduling disrupted travel plans will not incur additional charges. Dedicated support centres have been set up to assist with refunds and rebookings, ensuring quick resolution.
The ministry noted that IndiGo’s operations are stabilising, with flight schedules improving steadily. The airline increased services from 706 flights on Friday to 1,565 on Saturday and is expected to reach 1,650 flights by Sunday evening. Other domestic carriers continue to operate at full capacity without disruption.
To address fare hikes caused by cancellations, the government imposed immediate fare caps to maintain affordability. Prices have since stabilised, and airlines must strictly follow the revised structure.
IndiGo has also been instructed to return all mishandled baggage within 48 hours, keeping passengers informed. As of Saturday, 3,000 bags have been delivered nationwide.
Major airports—including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Goa—reported smooth operations on Sunday, with no congestion. Additional staff and monitoring have been deployed by airport operators and CISF.
The MoCA’s 24×7 Control Room continues to oversee flight operations and passenger support, ensuring compliance and swift response to concerns. The ministry emphasised that corrective measures will remain until full normalcy is restored, with ongoing monitoring to protect passenger rights.
