New Delhi, July 3, 2026: HCL Technologies shares experienced a significant surge of more than 6 percent on Friday following an announcement of a strategic deal with a Europe-based Fortune Global 50 company. The IT services giant also completed the acquisition of Jaspersoft, contributing to a positive sentiment across the technology sector.
HCLTech's stock rose as much as 6.5% during the session to ₹1,148.50, making it one of the top gainers on the Nifty 50 index.
In a filing with exchanges, HCLTech announced a strategic partnership with an Europe-based Fortune Global 50 firm to establish an AI-driven operating model for their global digital workplace and enterprise networks. The agreement runs from July 2026 to December 2031, with an option to extend by another five years. The initial contract is valued at approximately $1.14 billion and is described as “entirely a net new business” for the company.
Additionally, HCLTech completed its acquisition of Jaspersoft, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, effective from July 1. This acquisition followed their previous announcement made in December 2025.
The rally extended to broader IT stocks, with the Nifty IT index climbing about 2.5% to 27,653.90. HCLTech led the advance with a gain of over 6%, followed by Persistent Systems (3.5%), Tech Mahindra (3.5%), Coforge (3.2%), Mphasis (3.1%), LTIMindtree (2.6%), Tata Consultancy Services (2%), Infosys (1.2%) and Wipro (1.1%).
HCLTech’s strategic partnership and acquisition of Jaspersoft are expected to strengthen its position in the market, driving further gains across the technology sector.
