Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Requests Change of Questioning Date in Alleged Excise Policy Scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a notice to Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi, to appear for questioning in relation to the alleged scam in the new excise policy. However, Sisodia has requested a change of dates due to his responsibilities as the Finance Minister of Delhi, specifically the need to prepare the budget. He has asked for a week's time and assured that he will cooperate with the investigation. Sisodia tweeted about the notice, stating that he has always cooperated with investigating agencies and that they have found nothing against him in previous raids and searches.

Earlier this month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Magunta Raghav Reddy in connection with the same excise policy scam. The ED and the CBI allege that irregularities were committed during the revision of Delhi's excise duty policy with the involvement of a group known as the "South Group". Vijay Nair, a strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has also been arrested in connection with the case and has been denied bail. He has called on Sisodia to make public his relationship with Nair and other accused individuals.
