Police are looking into how human waste ended up in a batch of Coca-Cola drink cans at one of the company’s factories in Northern Ireland.
Employees working the night shift at the Lisburn soda plant were disrupted last week when a consignment of cans clogged one of their machines — that’s when they made the grotesque discovery, The Guardian reported.
The cans arrive at the plant without their tops and are then filled with soda before being sealed and sold.
Coca-Cola suspended all night-time processing as soon as they learned of the incident and seized all the affected cans. The beverage giant additionally emphasized none of the contaminated product made it to sale.

“The problem was identified immediately through our robust quality procedures and all of the product from the affected batch was immediately impounded and will not be sold,” Coca-Cola said in a statement cited by the Belfast Telegraph. “This is an isolated incident and does not affect any p…

Sebi bans Reliance Industries from Trading for 1 Year as Penalty for Alleged Fraud

NEW DELHI — India's markets regulator has barred Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries and 12 others from trading in equity derivatives for a year for allegedly fraudulent trades made 10 years ago.

The multibillion-dollar Reliance Industries rejected the ruling by the Securities and Exchange Board of India and said it would appeal the order.

In its ruling late March 25, the securities regulator said that the fraud is related to the 2007 sale of a five percent stake in subsidiary Reliance Petroleum when it was a separately listed company. The company used unlawful trade practices to profit from that sale, the ruling said.

The regulator said Reliance made about $76 million in profits from the sale and has asked it to give up nearly $70 million along with 12 percent interest within 45 days.

According to the Press Trust of India, SEBI official G. Mahalingam said that that he passed the order "in order to protect the interest of the investors" and make them trust the regulatory…

Five Reasons Why ‘Half Girlfriend’ Looks Exciting: Watch Motion Poster

MUMBAI—Mohit Suri’s next “Half Girlfriend” is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s best-selling novel by the same name. It is set to release on May 19.

Here are five reasons why the film looks exciting:

• It sets out to explore the ‘in-between’ space in relationships today. Says Suri, “As I observed young people, I saw a lot of situations where people were more than friends but not quite in a relationship. When you find someone special, yet you are not fully together. I felt there was something between a friend and girlfriend.” The tag-line says, “Dost Se Zyaada, Girlfriend Se Kam.”

• This is the second collaboration between Suri, producers Balaji Telefilms and Shraddha Kapoor after the 2014 hit “Ek Villain.”

• It is also the second collaboration also between Arjun Kapoor and celebrity writer Chetan Bhagat, after their 2014 hit, “2 States.”

• This is the first film to thus co-star Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

• Like all of Suri’s best films, the movie is likely to score high in popular mus…

Reliance Jio May Extend Jio Prime Membership Deadline by a Month

Reliance Jio is said to be planning to extend the deadline for Jio Prime membership by a month as it is falling short of the targeted sign-ups. The report by TeleAnalysis, citing sources with knowledge of the plan, says that the last day to sign up for Jio Prime membership, which is March 31, may be delayed to April 30.

Reliance Jio Prime membership deadline extension
Reliance Jio has upended the telecom industry, but is said to be short of missing its target for Jio Prime members by as much as 50 percent. The report claims that so far only 22-27 million Reliance Jio users have signed up for Jio Prime membership, available at an introductory price of Rs. 99 till March 31. This figure, worryingly for Jio, represents roughly a quarter of the 100 million-strong user base the company last announced it had.

However, the company is yet to make a final decision on extending the Reliance Jio Prime deadline. The delay in making a final decision may be because the company could be hoping that user…

Shilpa Shinde on sexual harassment charges: Sanjay ji touched me on the pretext of taking a photo

Actor Shilpa Shinde filed an FIR against Sanjay Kohli, the producer of her last show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, accusing him of sexual harassment on Thursday. The actor says that it all started out as a joke, but she tried to stop when things went out of control. “In our industry everything is taken lightly. Guys say so many things and if you react to them, they go like - ‘we are kidding’. Things like – ‘You are looking, hot sexy’ - are common. Sanjay ji used to come on the set and while Benaifer would take care of all the paper work, he would be the one who would talk like this to us,” she says.

Bengaluru, Shamed By Frothing Lake, Summons International Help

Bengaluru's lakes have turned into showstoppers for reasons the city should be ashamed of. The two largest ones - Bellandur and Varthur - have, in the last 20 years, frothed, foamed and burst into flames, the result of relentlessly being forced to accommodate toxic chemicals and untreated sewage.

Today, experts from Britain and Israel visited Bellandur Lake, located in the south east part of the city, surrounded by high-rise buildings. In February, the lake, nearly 900 acres large, was covered with a fire, shooting streams of smoke into the sky and blinding drivers who pulled over to avoid accidents. The fire fighters summoned were amazed at the scale of the fire, which raged for nearly eight hours, on a body of water.

Bengaluru was rechristened India's Silicon Valley when its outsourcing industry became a worldwide phenomenon. And yet, neither the highly skilled techies nor local government agencies have been able to develop a workable solution for the crisis of its lakes
