Prayas Ray Barman : youngest IPL debutant at 16

Prayas Ray Barman, who grabbed limelight with his performances in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19, was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.5 crore, nearly eight times his base price. The 16-year-old, who has a 6'1 inch frame, bowls leg-spin and is a handy batsman too.Prayas Ray Barman is 16 years and 157 days old. Afghanistan's mystery spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman had held the record previously. He had made his IPL debut for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018 when he was 17 years and 11 days old.Prayas Ray Barman had become the youngest crorepati when he pocketed Rs 1.5 crore, close to eight times his base price of Rs 20 lakh at the IPL auction in December.

Saina Nehwal confirms wedding with Parupalli Kashyap

Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal has confirmed her wedding date with badminton player Parupalli Kashyap. The duo will get married on December 16 this year, as that is the only day in Saina’s calendar when she will be free from her otherwise hectic training schedule.

Speaking to TOI, Saina said that she will be occupied with Premier Badminton League December 20 onwards, soon after which the Tokyo Games qualifiers will begin. “So this was the only date that we had to get married,” she said.

Saina talked about her and Parupalli’s decade-long relationship and their journey until deciding to get married.

The duo started travelling for bigger tours around 2007-08, which meant that they trained together, played tournaments together and with time, started paying more attention to each other’s game.

There was a familiar face cheering Arpinder Singh on behind the triple jump area at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium on Wednesday. It was Tajinderpal Singh Toor, the shot putter who had won India's first athletics gold at these Asian Games. During Toor's event, Arpinder, who is his Games village roommate, had been in the stands behind him, doing a Facebook live of the event, providing live commentary to his fans. Now it was Toor's turn to return the favour.

He would jump a new personal best 17.19 at the Inter-State Athletics championships in order to qualify for the Asian Games. And although he wasn't able to get a national record like he had hoped, Arpinder is still more than happy with a gold medal. How does he plan to celebrate? With a photo session of course. Twitteratti Hail Saina Nehwal's Bronze Medal Run At World Badminton Championships

India's star shuttler Saina Nehwal went down fighting 21-12, 17-21, 10-21 to Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in the semi-final of the World Badminton Championships on Saturday. Even though Saina couldn't make it to the final of the tournament, she took home a well deserved bronze medal. Going into the match, Saina was aiming to extend her 6-1 head-to-head advantage over the Japanese but her opponent proved to be a tough nut to crack. Despite her loss, Twitteratti hailed Saina's bronze winning performance and showered praise on her.

PV Sindhu beats Carolina Marin in India Open 2017
