Board chairman Waseem Rizvi said some Shias suggested gifting silver arrows for the statue through the Waqf Board.
In a letter to chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi, Rizvi said that these arrows would symbolise India's fight against terrorism. "The way `maryada purushottam' Ram fought against evil and killed raakshas (demon) with arrows, similarly we want these arrows to symbolise the fight against terrorism, so that people of all faiths can live peacefully in India," said Rizvi
