A photograph shared by a Twitter user trying to show class divide in our society is creating ripples on the micro-blogging platform. The photo shows a mother with her small child sitting on the seat of a Delhi metro coach while the caretaker of the child takes the floor, despite ample space available for her to sit on seats.The tweet has gone viral with over 7000 retweets and has sparked one of the most polarizing debates on social media.

While some felt that the class division in the society was so inherent that despite availability of seats, the supposedly 'low caste' nanny "knew her place in the society" and thus found it appropriate to sit on the floor.
