Tamil Nadu was India’s top destination in 2018 for both domestic and foreign travellers,
finds a report by the tourism ministry. Uttar Pradesh figured second on the list for Indians and third for foreigners, presumably due to the lure of the Taj Mahal. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana rounded off the top five destinations for domestic travellers even as Goa and Kerala were surprisingly missing from the top 10. The upshot from Tamil Nadu’s good show? If the infrastructure is good, tourists will visit.
