Mitron, the TikTok clone app, which was removed by Google on June 2 from Play Store is now back. Google had removed the app because of certain policy and guidelines violation. Interestingly, yesterday only Google India had posted a blog explaining why the app was removed. Google had also mentioned in the blog that it was working with the developer to fix the issue. “We have an established process of working with developers to help them fix issues and resubmit their apps. We’ve given this developer some guidance and once they’ve addressed the issue the app can go back up on Play,” noted Sameer Samat, Vice President, Android and Google Play, in the blog post.
Mitron is now available on Play Store once again. The app on the Play Store under the ‘What’s New’ section states: “1) Resolved Video upload issue; 2) Audio selection from Audio Library; 3) Crash fixes 4) Bug fixes; and 5) UX changes
-sharing app TikTok has been receiving a lot of flak over the last several weeks — one for being Chinese, and two for “content that hurts Indian sentiment.”
