The Yogi Adityanath government now is considering a pilgrimage scheme that will
fund the religious trips of the 150 million registered labourers in the Uttar Pradesh state. There is no estimate of costs yet, but it will likely be launched on 10th November 2020, as part of the birth
centenary celebrations of RSS ideologue Dattopant Thengadi. Earlier Akhilesh Yadav has started a similar scheme in 2015 named Samajwadi Shrawan Yatra for senior citizens , however he has not gained any electoral benefit.
