Delhi Cabinet Reshuffled After Resignation of Manish Sisodia, Kailash Gehlot Appointed as Finance Minister

 


Following the resignation of Manish Sisodia, Delhi's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has assigned cabinet ministers Kailash Gehlot and Rajkumar Anand with new responsibilities. Kailash Gehlot has been appointed as the Finance Minister of Delhi and has been assigned portfolios such as Planning, Public Works, Ministry of Power, Home, Urban and Development, Irrigation & flood control, and Water. On the other hand, Rajkumar Anand has been assigned the Education, Land & Building, Vigilance, Services, Tourism, Art Culture & Language, Labor, Employment, Health, and Industries departments.

Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain both resigned from their ministerial posts, which were accepted by the Chief Minister. Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in connection with the Delhi New Excise Policy (2021-22) scam case and has been remanded in CBI custody until March 4, while Satyendar Jain is currently serving time in Tihar Jail after being arrested on May 30.
