How to use new ChatGPT in Bing?

This guide will show you how to get started with the new Bing AI through ChatGPT. This innovative experience combines Microsoft's search engine with a customized version of OpenAI's ChatGPT bot to provide more natural and conversational answers to your queries instead of just presenting a list of links on a page, which may or may not contain accurate information.

Unlike traditional search engines, the new Bing and similar chatbots are capable of handling complex questions and tasks, and you can interact with them knowing that they understand the context. However, it's essential to remember that, even though the chatbot is intelligent, it is not infallible, and errors may occur. Therefore, it's crucial to verify any information obtained from it.

This guide will provide you with the essential steps to start using the Bing AI experience on various operating systems such as Windows 11, 10, macOS, or Linux. Additionally, the chatbot is now available on mobile devices via Microsoft Edge and Bing apps for Android and iOS and on Skype.

Open https://www.bing.com/ in browser

Then type a question in the search box. The result will show a chat button.

Presently there is a waitlist for Chat option in Bing so when you click on chat you can register for chatGPT.

You can click on the "Access the new Bing Faster button"

The new Bing is like having a research assistant, personal planner, and creative partner at your side whenever you search the web. With this set of AI-powered features, you can:

Ask your actual question. When you ask complex questions, Bing gives you detailed replies.

Get an actual answer. Bing looks at search results across the web to offer you a summarized answer.

Be creative. When you need inspiration, Bing can help you write poems, stories, or even share ideas for a project.

In the chat experience, you can also chat and ask follow-up questions such as, “can you explain that in simpler terms,” or, “give me more options” to get different and even more detailed answers in your search. However, in chat, each conversation will be limited to 5 interactions, to keep the interactions grounded in search.

These are the steps you need to follow to get new Bing.

Bing searches for relevant content across the web and then summarizes what it finds to generate a helpful response. It also cites its sources, so you're able to see links to the web content it references.

 Bing on Skype

You can now chat with Bing in Skype to get answers from the web, create written content, vacation planning ideas, and more, all generated by AI. Chat with Bing in a one-to-one conversation, or add it to a group with your friends, family, or colleagues.

When Bing is part of a group, Bing will only access the chat context when it is mentioned explicitly using @Bing. Bing will refresh its memory and start over with every new mention. When summarizing a conversation, Bing may get your pronouns wrong. If this happens, you can tell Bing your correct pronouns using @Bing in the message.

Bing does not support audio or video interactions in Skype, and it will not access or participate in any audio or video conversation.

Bing aims to base all its responses on reliable sources, but AI can make mistakes, and third-party content on the internet may not always be accurate or reliable. Use your own judgement and double check the facts before making decisions or taking action based on Bing’s responses in Skype.

Remember this is a preview, and we are still learning. To share feedback or report a concern, right click (desktop) or tap and hold (mobile) on the response and select Report a concern. We’ll take a look.

Bing on edge Mobile

You can now chat with Bing on your phone in the Microsoft Edge app to get answers from the web, create written content, gather trip planning ideas, and more - all generated by AI. Once you clear the waitlist, you will be able to access the new Bing from your home page on the Microsoft Edge app. Each conversation will be limited to 5 interactions, to keep the interactions grounded in search.

Bing in the Edge app also supports audio interactions – just tap the microphone icon and you can ask Bing your question and hear a voice response.

To share feedback or report a concern in the Edge app, tap and hold on the response and then select either thumbs up or down option for feedback. We welcome your concerns and will continue to work with user feedback to the improve the Bing in Edge app experience for all users.

How to get access to new Bing ?

You can request access by selecting “Join the waitlist.” When you've made it past the waitlist, you’ll receive an email confirming your access and sharing next steps. From there, you’ll need to use the Microsoft Edge browser and sign in with your Microsoft account to access all the capabilities of the new Bing. If you use the Microsoft Edge Dev browser and sign in with your Microsoft account, you'll also be able to search in the sidebar (the Bing icon you'll find on the right side of your screen), where you can search and chat on the new Bing side-by-side as you browse the web.
