Selfiee Movie Review: Akshay Kumar Shines in Comic Role, but Remake Falls Short of Expectations

Selfiee, directed by Raj Mehta and starring Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushrratt Bharuccha, is the latest Bollywood film to adopt the hit formula of remaking a successful South Indian movie. Selfiee's plot revolves around a superstar, Vijay Kumar (Akshay Kumar), who needs a new driver's license and the police official, Abhimanyu Singh (Emraan Hashmi), who is a big fan of the actor and gets into a war of words with him.

While the film's first half is more entertaining, the second half relies more on drama and less on comedy, with an intense face-off between the lead characters. Akshay Kumar shines in his comic role, while Emraan Hashmi struggles to impress the audience with his performance.

The music fails to charm the audiences, with only one song becoming a chartbuster. Overall, Selfiee is just another average remake from Bollywood's Pandora box that can be watched once or wait until it's available on OTT.
