Complaint against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah for financial fraud

A complaint has been filed against Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, accusing him of aiding, abetting, protecting and promoting the private investors, persons involved in Ponzi schemes operating in the state and other parts of the country.

BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Sunday hit out at Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah over his meeting with "declared absconder" Vijay Eswaran. Patra said that the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) had declared Vijay Eswaran an absconder and yet, the chief minister met him during his visit to China in 2013.

The Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government approved the demand of the Lingayat community for a separate religion



Just months before the Karnataka Assembly election, the Siddaramaiah-led government on Monday, 19 March accepted the recommendation of Nagamohan Das Committee for a separate religion status for members of the Lingayat community.

The committee, formed by the state government in December 2017 to decide on the matter, had noted that “Lingayats may be considered as religious minority."The state government’s decision is a crucial political development ahead of the 2018 state assembly polls in Karnataka.

Scrap Hindi from signage, Siddaramaiah tells Bengaluru Metro


Chief minister Siddaramaiah asked the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) on Friday to drop Hindi from its signage.

This means only Kannada and English will be on all signboards.
