WAYNAD TOURISM : Visit Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary this weekend.

Wayanad sits on the edge of UNESCO heritage site Nilgiri biosphere in Kerala with amazing divergence in nature. A number of tribes inhabit this region, in fact, most of the state’s tribal population have made this their home adding that distinct societal influence. One could visit the defunct Jain basidi at Sulthan Bathery, which was once an ammunition dumping ground for Tipu Sultan of Mysore. Learning that the forests were once reserved for private hunting by Mysore royalty, British viceroys and Russian Dukes, this location makes sense.

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary in Wayanad, Kerala, south India. It is on the way from Mysore to Sultan Battery. A variety of large wild animals such as Indian Bison, elephant, deer and tiger are found there.

Kalpetta, the small town lying on the Kozhikode- Mysore National Highway is the headquarters of Wayanad district. It is about 72 km from Kozhikode. The town surrounded by coffee plantations and mountains is a tourist hub as well a…

Biosimilars:New Hope for Pharma sector?

Biologics, or drugs developed from biological sources, have taken the pharma world by storm over past decade. Many top best-selling drugs in 2014, were biologics indicated for either autoimmune disorders or cancer..There are variety of features of biologics including their ability to effectively control a range of diseases, their premium pricing structures, and a tendency toward a long shelf life stemming from the onerous U.S. regulatory pathway for the development and approval of generic versions known as "biosimilars".

Food and Drug Administration approved its first biosimilar with Novartis named ZarxioTM earlier this year as a less costly replacement for Amgen's white blood cell-boosting Neupogen, but still there are hurdles on the regulatory front in US market.the main issue is that these biosimars can't be exact replicas of approved biological drugs .

Besides regulatory hurdles bio similars are not cost effective too... But still biosimilars can emerge as a growth…

Rajya Sabha passes private bill for transgender rights

The support towards upholding and recognizing the rights of a sexual minority community cuts across political parties, and follows last year's landmark Nalsa judgement by the Supreme Court that recognized the third gender.

The Rajya Sabha on Friday unanimously passed a private member’s bill, after a gap of 45 years, which protects and provides a number of rights for trangender persons while guaranteeing them reservations in education and jobs, financial aid and social inclusion.
The Rights of Transgender Persons Bill paves the way for a law on the matter, in the near future. The government assured the House that it would bring an updated bill in Lok Sabha. Top sources in the government later told The Hindu that while the government “accepts the spirit and sentiment of the bill, it has infirmities that need to be removed.”

Avengers Age of Ultron review: Eye-popping feast of superheroes

While Avengers: Age Of Ultron  will have outstanding numbers from its India theatrical release, it may not be as big as Fast andFurious 7, courtesy a very simple release – the relative release size! While Fast and Furious 7 had released on the E-Cinema projection systems too, Avengers: Age Of Ultron will limit itself to the 2K digital projection platforms only, like all the major Hollywood film studios do. All theater's are House full in Metro City Bangalore  for Sunday  morning Show.Few seats are still available with some theatres.

So, against the 2300 (approx) screens that Fast and Furious 7 released in, Avengers: Age Of Ultron may release only in about 1200 screens. However, if you look at the screen-wise collections, I’m quite sure Avengers: Age Of Ultron will score well over Fast and Furious 7.

Directed by Joss Whedon. Starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Runner, James Spader, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olse…

What caffeine does to your body and brain?

Many of us depend on caffeine. Some of us can't even start our day without it.
Whether you get your daily caffeine fix from coffee, tea, or a canned energy drink doesn't make much of a difference. It's still a stimulant with some positive and negative effects.
For starters, caffeine makes most of us feel more alert and awake. But while it can keep us focused, too much can also backfire. And it also affects everything in our bodies from our digestion to our metabolism and vision.

It’s natural to grow increasingly tired throughout the day — our brains naturally produce more and more of a molecule called adenosine from the time we wake up until the time we go to sleep. Scientists think this helps us get to bed at night.
Caffeine hijacks this natural process by mimicking adenosine in the brain. It latches onto the receptors designed for adenosine, pushing them out of the way. As a result, we’re left feeling more alert and awake

Asus ZenFone 2 Review: 64GB of internal storage is priced at Rs. 22,999

Asus is selling the ZenFone 2 in four different variants in India: the ZE551ML (with 4GB of RAM, 64GB ROM and a 5.5-inch full-HD screen); the ZE551ML (with 4GB of RAM, 32GB ROM and a 5.5-inch full-HD screen); the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (with 2GB of RAM, 16GB ROM and 5.5-inch full-HD screen), and the ZenFone 2 ZE550ML (with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and 5.5-inch HD screen).

To add to the confusion, both ZE551ML (4GB) models use the 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 SoC whereas the ZE551ML (2GB) and the ZE550ML are powered by the 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560. Prices range from Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 22,999.

There are more variants of the ZenFone 2 which the company might launch later. This naming scheme will be really confusing for buyers, because the model number alone does not mean anything. The folks at Asus could easily have avoided this hotchpotch of variants.

Nomenclatures aside, Asus sent us a review unit of the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. We put the phone thro…

What actually is snooping? Snooping, in a security context, is unauthorized access to another person's or company's data.Snooping can include casual observance of an e-mail that appears on another's computer screen or watching what someone else is typing. Moreover this snooping although in a cyber case may be seen as a utility but when it comes to political level may prove to be disastrous.Recently, we came across a great case of snooping in politics which changed the course of Indian politics. It’s not a just case of snooping or bugging but such cases have also been into notice earlier.CASES OF SNOOPINGIt was 24 years ago, in March, 1991, when the Samajwadi Janta Party (Rashtriya) led by Chandra Shekhar, who was prime minister for four months, suddenly met its end over a matter involving policemen, that too from the neighboring state of Haryana. The Congress, the largest party in the Lok Sabha at the time, was supporting the SJP(R), a 50-odd member breakaway of the Janata…

Farmer takes his own life at AAP rally

A Rajasthani farmer has taken his own life at a political rally in central Delhi and in full view of the Indian capital’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, as he led a protest over central government policies he claims are fuelling farmer suicides.

The public suicide at Delhi’s famous Jantar Mantar monument park sparked an ugly political brawl, with India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and opposition Congress Party accusing Mr Kejriwal of continuing the rally even as the man hanged himself and was then rushed to hospital where he was declared dead. Footage of the protest, attended by thousands of farmers, showed a bearded man in a turban and holding a straw broom — the symbol of Delhi’s governing Aam Aadmi Party — climbing a tree, looping a white cotton scarf around a branch above his head and knotting it around his neck.
Minutes later, several AAP party workers are seen climbing the tree and trying to free the man from his self-styled noose.
A suicide note found at the s…

During the past couple of years we've seen a dramatic shift in Motorola's strategy for competing in the smartphone market. As one of the earliest producers of Android devices, the company needed to let go of ideas and strategies from years that had since past. Producing exclusive devices for carriers like Verizon was no longer going to work with the iPhone finally freed from exclusivity on AT&T, and Motorola's hardware and software design had begun to show a great deal of age.

That brings us to today, at a point where Motorola has more or less found their new approach to making smartphones. It's a very simple and understandable approach. Consistency across the design of the hardware, consistency across the design of the software, and a yearly line of phones that can easily be divided into budget, mid-range, and flagship categories based on a single letter in their name. This review takes a look at the newest version of Motorola's budget device, the …

Twitter makes it easier for strangers to send direct messages

The social network now allows users to receive direct messages from other users regardless if they follow each other.

Twitter is expanding its popular direct message feature to allow users to receive messages from other users regardless if they follow each other. The move is part of its ongoing effort to try to boost user growth as pressure from Wall Street investors continues.

Twitter said Monday its direct message system, which allows users to communicate privately, used to require each user be "following" one another, effectively having made a connection beforehand. Now, Twitter said, the direct messages will operate for anyone who chooses to opt in to the feature.
The feature could be particularly beneficial for large companies and celebrities, who will now be able to respond to people who send them messages without having to establish a connection beforehand.
Twitter had tested this feature in the past, making it available to a portion of its users in 2013. But …

The churning in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reached a climax late Monday night, with the party expelling senior leaders Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha.

Well this is the theme of World Earth day as it celebrates its 45th anniversary. This could be the most exciting year in environmental history. The year in which economic growth and sustainability join hands. Ostensibly, Earth shines like a beacon reflecting sunlight off silvery white clouds, opal blue oceans and forest-tinged continents, it is hard to imagine but we are stamping our metal feet into Earth.           Everywhere round the globe there is hubbub regarding saving mother Earth. Many treaties are signed to save earth, but where’s the will to implement them? Indeed the notion of Earth-Hour is good and it joins various countries to this pivotal issue but just turning off electricity once in a year for an hour does it all?
Will the concept of 3R’s Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse only be confined to textbooks of school children and not being practiced?  Over 139 acres of forest is being cleared every minute worldwide. Are you aware running the tap while brushing your teeth wastes 4 ga…
