What is React JS and Why is it worth learning in 2019 ?

React is a frontend library, which runs in the browser. Like any other frontend library (jQuery, etc), it is happy to be served by any old webserver – Apache, NGINX – or any kind of backend – PHP, Rails, and so on.React Native a good choice for a long term mobile app development. React Native allows development of mobile apps using only JavaScript. The main purpose of React is to be fast, scalable, and simple. It works only on user interfaces in application. This corresponds to view in the MVC template. It can be used with a combination of other JavaScript libraries or frameworks, such as Angular JS in MVC.

React is definitely worth learning. It is not just a fad. React itself is not what's important, but rather the patterns that React has popularized in Web development. The principles of functional programming and unidirectional data flow have existed for decades, but are only now being widely adopted on the Web.

It takes 4–5 days depending on your learning capabilities to learn and…

Superstitions kill animals - Article by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi

Superstitions kill animals. This is the third article enumerating what illegal animal parts are being sold, by so called Hinduism sites, to gullible buyers in search of magic to change their lives for the better. People who have reached such a level of frustration and fear, that they are prepared to spend money to destroy every other species in the hope that this will bring a change in their fortunes. There are more lies about so-called Sacred Objects than any other items in the world – shaligrams (ammonite stones) rudrakshas (seeds of the Elaeocarpusganitrus tree) for instance, but I am only taking those that involve animal lives.

I have already written about hathjodi, the penis of the monitor lizard and SiyarSinghi, the imaginary horn on the head of a particular jackal(neither the species, nor the bone exists).

The biggest fraud of all is the Nagamani, the magic stone that supposedly comes from the forehead of a cobra. It supposedly can be amber yellow, honey, dark green, light gre…

The legend of Tartini's "Devil's Trill Sonata"

The Violin Sonata in G minor, more famously known as the Devil's Trill Sonata is a famous work for violin by Giuseppe Tartini (1692–1770), famous for being extremely technically demanding.

Tartini stood along with Vivaldi and Veracini as one of the great composers, violinists and theorists of the 18th century. He produced at least 200 each of sonatas and concertos; the exact figure is not yet known.

The story behind "Devil's Trill" starts with a dream. Tartini allegedly told the French astronomer Jérôme Lalande that he dreamed that The Devil appeared to him and asked to be his servant. At the end of their lessons Tartini handed the devil his violin to test his skill—the devil immediately began to play with such virtuosity that Tartini felt his breath taken away. When the composer awoke he immediately jotted down the sonata, desperately trying to recapture what he had heard in the dream. Despite the sonata being successful with his audiences, Tartini lamented that the p…

Don't keep two PPF accounts: You can face a penalty, implications and what to do

While only one PPF account is allowed to be opened in one's name, there could be a possibility that one ends up holding multiple PPF accounts. It does not matter whether you have one such account in a post office and another in a bank.
One person-one account The application to be used while opening the PPF account gets a declaration from the account holder that no other PPF account is being held by the individual. However, remember that the rules allow the same individual to open another account in the name of a minor. Still, it does not allow to hold more than one PPF account in the self-name. As a parent, one can open in one minor child name while the other parent can open in second child name. Both parents cannot open in the name of the same child.
Second PPF account Once you have realised that there are more than one account in your own name, steps need to be taken to remove this irregularity. The second account will anyhow become the irregular account and you will not get an…

Three-member committee must appoint CBI director by consensus and task director with regaining agency’s credibility

After months of turf wars, controversy and scandal left the CBI scarred, the government has an opportunity to initiate the much delayed process of rebuilding and restoring the agency’s credibility.

The crucial matter regarding the appointment process of the Central Bureau of Investigation director is listed before the Supreme Court. The petition flags two issues:
it challenges the appointment of the incumbent CBI director, M. Nageswara Rao, as being illegal as he was unilaterally appointed by the government, bypassing the selection committee, and
it highlights the complete lack of transparency in the appointment process.

As per the provisions of the law governing the appointment of the CBI director (the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act), the selection committee consists of the prime minister, the leader of opposition and the chief justice of India or a judge of the Supreme Court nominated by him. The composition of the selection panel has been an issue of public debate and has evo…

Will self-censorship help Netflix and Hotstar prevent potential government regulation?

India’s video-streaming services have drafted a code to censor content on their platforms. Reuters reports that OTT players Netflix, Hotstar and others will prohibit content that shows a child “engaged in real or simulated sexual activities”, content that's disrespectful of the national flag or seen to be encouraging terrorism, and content that intends to outrage the religious sentiments of any community. The move comes in the backdrop of streaming companies facing lawsuits over obscenity. Amazon Prime already censors Hindi movies on its platform.
According to many intellects,   self policing  online streaming companies is not a good idea. It is responsibility to be superseded by Govt if found bypassing in any case with exorbitantly huge penalty to ensure the latter does not default. Only then there will be sensible work done by the people responsible behind the online streaming environment right from the lowest to the highest designation.
